Presenting the 1st annual T
Karts Super Enduro at Oakland
Valley Raceway Park in Cuddebackville, NY.
A first of it's kind, the T Karts Super Enduro
will be two events in one. During the day, teams of 2 drivers will
run a 4-hour endurance road race on
one of the finest paved kart tracks in the East. At night, the same
teams will race the same karts in a 500 lap
race on the OVRP dirt oval. Results of the two events will
be merged to produce a single winning team. Lunch and dinner will
be served, and transponder timing by AMB will be provided to all

EVENT RULES AND PROCEDURES:
TEAMS:
A Team consist of two drivers. No driver may drive for more than
one team. No driver may drive more than 75% of the laps completed
by his/her team. Drivers may not switch teams between the 4-hour
and the 500.
DRIVERS: Eligible drivers must
be 15 years of age or older. Drivers with no racing experience must
receive approval from the organizers. All drivers must be members
in good standing of GrassPass. Drivers may not have a physical condition
that would prevent them from participating safely. A minor release
is required for all competitors under 18.
DRIVER SAFETY: Helmets:
Full face headgear designed for motorsports competition is required.
All Helmets must be in compliance with Snell Foundation K98, SA2000,
or M2000 ratings. Helmets must be presented at pre-race technical
inspection. Helmet must be secured with a strap. An integrated visor
is required, NO MOTORCROSS HELMETS ARE PERMITTED. Neck Brace:
A collar type neck brace is required at all times. Competitors loosing
their neck brace on track will be black flagged. Protective
Clothing: Drivers are required to wear a jacket of leather,
denim, vinyl, or abrasion resistant nylon. Long sleeves and long
pants are required. Shoes, socks and gloves are required. Loose
clothing and long hair may not be exposed when on track. All safety
gear is subject to pre-race inspection.
KARTS: The kart is considered the
entry in this event, and once a kart has entered the track, it may
not be substituted with another chassis. One kart must be used for
both events. LTO or offset karts are prohibited. All
karts must be in compliance with GRASSPASS kart preparation rules.
Competitors are responsible for making karts comply with the GRASSPASS
kart preparation rules before arriving at the event. No exceptions
will be made to the GRASSPASS rules. Remember that a full width
rear bumper, CIK approved bodywork, and Spec Maxxis Tires are MANDATORY.
TIRES: Maxxis is the Spec tire
for this event. The Maxxis HG3 is the official and only permitted
tire for all GRASSPASS dirt competition. The Maxxis Raptor is the
official and only permitted tire for all GRASSPASS asphalt events.
Competitors at this event ONLY will be allowed
to use the Maxxis Raptor for both asphalt and dirt races. NO TIRE
PREPS OR TREATMENTS ARE PERMITTED. MULTIPLE MEANS OF DETECTION WILL
BE IN USE. Competitors found to be in violation of the tire prep
rule will be immediately disqualified and forfeit any entry fee.
INSPECTION: All competitors must
present their safety gear and officially entered go kart at the
pre-race safety inspection. Only karts that pass technical inspection
will be permitted on track. The organizers reserve the right to
perform additional technical inspections of any type at any time
during the event, without regard for lost track time or position.
ENFORCEMENT: Any competitor found
to be in violation of any GRASSPASS or supplemental regulations
risks immediate disqualification and ejection from the grounds.
All entry and other fees will be lost in the event of an ejection.
CONDUCT: This event is a recreational
competition event, and as such, no unsportsmanlike, unsafe or unhealthy
behavior will be tolerated. The use of alcohol, drugs, verbal or
physical threats or intimidation, or foul language will result in
immediate ejection and suspension from all GRASSPASS events.
4-HOUR RACE PROCEDURES: The 4-Hour
endurance race will be a competition against the clock. The race
will be checkered exactly four hours after the green flag drops,
regardless of cautions or race stoppages. The race will be started
with a Le Mans start, with competitors gridded based on their qualifying
times. Either driver may start the race. Each team must make at
least one pit stop during the race and make a driver change. No
driver may drive more than 75% of the race distance. Refueling,
driver changes and repairs must be made in accordance with the Pit
Stop rules shown below. The team that completes the most laps in
the 4-hour span will be declared the winner. The top 4 finishing
karts must proceed directly to impound following the race. Caution
laps will be counted.
500-LAP RACE PROCEDURES: Competitors
will be allowed 60-minutes following the completion of the 4-Hour
race to prepare their karts for the 500-Lap oval race. Competitors
may change gearing, chassis settings and may remove the Maxxis Raptor
tires and replace them with Maxxis HG3 tires. All GRASSPASS oval
rules will be enforced for the 500-Lap oval race. The starting order
will be determined by a qualifying session. A double file rolling
start will begin the race. All subsequent restarts will be single
file. Any competitor deemed to be going "too slow" and
presenting a danger to other competitors will be blackflagged. Due
to the length of the race, no passing flags will be used. Competitors
are responsible for making clean passes, and for being overtaken
in a safe manner. The BLACK flag will be used generously if competitors
are deemed to be driving in a dangerous manner. Caution laps will
count towards the 500-lap race distance. Either driver may start
the race. Each team must make at least one pit stop during the race
and make a driver change. No driver may drive more than 75% of the
race distance. Refueling, driver changes and repairs must be made
in accordance with the Pit Stop rules shown below. The team that
completes the 500-lap race distance will be declared the winner.
The top 4 finishing karts must proceed directly to impound following
the race.
PIT STOP PROCEDURES:
MERGING RESULTS:
The finishing order of the two events will be merged to produce
a single winning team. The winning team will have the lowest
combined score from the two events.
BONUS POINTS: Two(2) bonus point will be awarded
for capturing the pole position in each race. One(1) bonus point
will be awarded for the fast lap of each race.
4-Hour Enduro Final Score: Finishing Position+bonus
points=Race 1 total score.
500-Lap Oval Race Final Score: Finishing Position+bonus
points=Race 2 total score.
FINAL RESULT CALCULATIONS: Final Score= Race 1 Score
+ Race 2 Score. In the event of a tie, the team with the best single
finishing position, and then the team with the most combined laps
lead will be champion.
Example of Scoring: Team X finished 3rd
in the 4 hour and 2nd
in the 500-lap race. They also had the fast lap in the 500-lap race.
